It’s Backwards Day on Big Rich Atlanta and the celebration begins with Harvin and Meyer presenting their jewelry line to a local boutique before they have a single product to show. They try to disguise their backward-ness by showing the shop’s stylist, Daryll, a photo of a prototype.

Just in case he notices the lack of inventory, Meyer is prepared to distract him with a wobbly stroll around the store on shoes designed as a runway statement, not to be worn by humans.

From the couch, the girls remind us how this idea came about.

Harvin: Our She Blames Me line is inspired by girls from our past that have challenged us in some way.

Meyer: Bud, you are being way to nice, it’s actually inspired by bitches that hate us.

Then it sounds like the sky is the limit so what’s the hold up with production, ladies?

Big Rich Atlanta Episode 5 Recap (02-20-13)

You know the saying about all publicity is good publicity? Well you can ask Atlanta’s Mayor Kasim Reed about that being a total load of crap. You’ll probably find him in a dark corner of a rural Georgia bar mumbling something about how Style Network ruined his life.

Episode 5 of Big Rich Atlanta begins at Virginia’s home where she and her daughters are entertaining Queen Evelyn, a man they refer to as “she” because he wears stilettos and make-up. Evelyn asks about the art on the wall and much to “her” surprise, Harvin is the anguished artist, inspired by death and drama. The group encourages Harvin to share her talent that was developed as a coping mechanism after her high school boyfriend committed suicide. Meyer suggests an art show.

Big Rich Atlanta Episode 4 Recap (02-13-13)

Episode 4 of Style Network’s Big Rich Atlanta begins with a photo recap of last week’s nasty fight between Kahdijiha and Ashlee. We get a full 360 of the room reminding us of the devastation that led to a frantic 911 call by Ash; some upside down cupcakes and a hair extension tossed on the floor.

Kahdijiha gives us her semi-distorted recollection.

I was minding my own business, eating a cupcake and Ashlee walks up. She approached me, I didn’t say anything to her.

Ashlee wraps up her call with emergency personnel and updates a friend standing nearby.

911 is on the way with the police, she’s gonna get arrested.

That’s what they told you, Ash? They said, “We’ll be right over to arrest her.” Is that correct?
The ambulance arrives and Ashlee boards unassisted. Moments later she’s seen gagging; making horrific expressions that no one, much less a former pageant girl, wants televised. A policeman asks if she’d like to press charges and Ashlee takes it up a notch, “I want a full investigation.”

Big Rich Atlanta Episode 3 Recap (02-06-13)

Successful female entrepreneurs around the world watched episode 3 of Style Network’s Big Rich Atlanta in total disbelief as Meagan and her mother Marcia single-handedly set women back about 40 years. They begin their mobile fashion boutique with a fluffy idea and a tube of lipstick, sans a business plan or funding. Armed with all that, they head to a commercial vehicle lot and tour different sized trucks while they throw around chic design ideas like mirrored walls and a pop-out dressing room.

The truck Meagan wants is $46,000. But this is Big RICH Atlanta so what’s the prob Marcia, pay up. Where’s your wallet? Oh I see- your plan was to start thinking about money on the fly.

The wisest thing no matter what amount of money, it’s better for us to get investors.

Interesting concept. Explain that to us, Marcia. We’re talking about some dresses in a van, investors aren’t necessary unless:

You don’t have any money.
You’re not willing to risk your own money because you put more thought into today’s outfit than the viability of this venture.

Big Rich Atlanta Episode 2 Recap (01-30-13)

Assault is bad. And while I would never condone such behavior, episode 2 of Style Network’s Big Rich Atlanta serves as an example of how otherwise non-violent people can haul off and punch someone. I wanted to smack Ashlee last night so I can only imagine how one feels after a day of filming with her.

This week we start with Virginia who is waking her daughters, Harvin and Meyer, reminding them that they promised to begin their workday at 10:00. The girls don’t understand mom’s sense of urgency. I don’t understand how their over-processed hair isn’t falling out. (As a technical matter, do the extensions even have a healthy follicle to adhere to?)

Big Rich Atlanta Series Premiere Recap (01-23-13)

The series premiere of Style Network’s Big Rich Atlanta is all about introductions.

First up, mother Virginia and her 2 grown daughters Harvin (30) and Meyer (27); both have 60 inch platinum synthetic extensions and a bunch of coupons for Crest Whitening Strips. They seem nice enough but the first impression was blurred by their Barbie costumes.

Harvin takes the lead.

We call Mom Goose because she has a loving relationship with vodka, Grey Goose.

Let’s get to know Meyer who prefers to be pushed in a wheelchair at the airport.

I would fake an injury before I would walk to my gate.

Genius. Ab. So. Lute. Ly. Freaking genius.
